First, you'll explore the skills you'll need to become a successful fundraiser. After that, you'll discover where the best corporate and foundation fundraising jobs are and how to apply for them.
Next, you'll delve into every area of nonprofit fundraising—annual funds, special events, corporate relations, foundation relations, major gifts, and planned giving. You'll also learn about capital campaigns and find out why they're a crucial element of nonprofit fundraising.
Along the way, you'll view real-life examples of writing projects, from gift acknowledgment letters to proposals, and you'll hone your own writing skills. In addition, you'll explore fundraising software tools you can use to track your efforts and enhance your results.

about the instructor
Linda Kissam is an eighteen-year veteran in the nonprofit management field. She has managed both 501 (c)(3) and 501 (c)(6) organizations and currently owns her own consulting company. She has taught both in the public and private sectors. A seasoned wine and hospitality industry veteran, Linda consults with local wineries on media attraction and food and wine events. She conducts both private and group strategic planning workshops for nonprofit and for-profit corporations. She currently serves as the executive director of a visitors bureau for an art town in California. She writes a weekly wine article and a bimonthly tourist destination column. She is a highly regarded facilitator for strategic planning workshops, marketing seminars, and event planning.
Tim Kachinske has extensive experience in all areas of nonprofit fundraising. Over a period of 20 years, he served as a development officer at a private liberal arts college, a research university, an international science organization, a social service agency, and an independent school. At these organizations, he handled responsibilities directly related to annual funds, special events, corporate and foundation fundraising, major gifts, planned giving, and capital campaigns.
